Honestly, it's a mixed bag. Some parts are pretty easy, and then you hit a level that feels impossible. Keep a lot of patience handy!
In my experience, the game is moderately difficult but super rewarding. You'll get the hang of it after a few Shine Sprites.
It's not hard if you're familiar with other Mario games. The controls are a bit slippery, though, which can make some levels tricky.
