As long as you don't block the vents and occasionally restart it, your PS4 can stay on for ages without a problem.
If you keep it clean and in a cool place, it can stay on pretty much indefinitely. Just don't forget to rest yourself too!
Sony recommends giving your PS4 a break after extended sessions, but it can generally stay on for several hours or even days.
I once left my PS4 on for 48 hours straight during a gaming marathon. No issues at all, but it got pretty warm!
