I'd say 25 hours for the story, but exploring and building can add endless fun. I logged over 80 hours just because of the base-building alone.
You can speedrun Subnautica in about 20 hours, but for full immersion and discovery, plan on closer to 40-50 hours.
Pffft, I did it in 15 hours, but I skipped most exploring. Not recommended unless you hate fun.
