In a Magic The Gathering draft, the sweet spot for your deck is 40 cards. That includes about 17 lands and 23 non-lands like creatures and spells. It's like baking a cake; too much flour and it's dry, not enough and it's all frosting. You want that perfect balance to get your strategy just right!

40 cards, no more, no less. You want to keep your deck lean and mean to draw your best cards more often.

Honestly, stick to 40 cards. Some folks try to get fancy adding more, but it usually just dilutes the deck. I've been drafting for years and the best decks I've faced were always 40 cards. Consistency is king in draft format.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
