The number of foils you can expect in a box of MTG really depends on what type of box you're opening. For a standard draft booster box, you're typically looking at around 1 foil per 3 packs, so with a box of 36 packs, you're looking at around 12 foils. However, this is just an average; you might get lucky and find more!

In my experience opening booster boxes, you can expect to see a foil in about 1 out of every 3 packs. So, if we're doing math, that's about 12 foils in a 36-pack booster box. But remember, it's all about RNG (random number generation), so your mileage may vary!

Honestly, counting foils is missing the point. It's all about the thrill of the game and the cards you need!

Just to throw my two cents in – it's all about luck! Sometimes you hit the jackpot and get more foils than you expected. Other times? Not so much. But on average, yeah, expect around 12 foils in a standard box.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:
