To have a smooth experience on Xbox Live, at least 3 Mbps download speed and 0.5 Mbps upload speed are recommended. But faster speeds are always better!

Honestly, you can play with even 2 Mbps, but don't expect a top-notch experience. Better safe than sorry with at least 5 Mbps!
