Originally, the Pokemon Trading Card Game kicked off with the Base Set which was released in 1999. This iconic set brought us 102 cards to collect, trade, and battle with. That's right, the journey into the world of Pokemon TCG started with a little over a hundred cards, featuring beloved characters like Pikachu and Charizard!

Just 102. That's how many cards started it all. Hard to believe considering how many there are now, right?

Fun fact: there were only 102 cards in the original set. My first deck had a shiny Blastoise I traded for on the playground. Still got it tucked away!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
