You might be confusing Fortnite with another game. Fortnite doesn't use sand shells for upgrades. Instead, it uses V-Bucks, Gold, and Creative XP.

Dude, Lego + Fortnite = Awesome! But no sand shells here, just V-Bucks and Gold.

Fortnite can't be upgraded with sand shells. Only V-Bucks, Gold, and Creative XP work for upgrades.
