Honestly, it totally depends on which card we're talking about and its condition. I snagged a first edition Machamp for around $50 in a local card shop. Not all first editions will make you break the bank.

The cost of a first edition Pokemon card can sky rocket into the thousands, even tens of thousands, depending on the card's rarity and condition. Cards like the first edition Charizard can go for over $200,000 if they're in mint condition. But, if you're looking at less iconic cards, you might be able to snag one for a couple hundred bucks.

Way too much! People are paying insane amounts for pieces of cardboard just because they're 'first edition'.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
