Splatoon uses a peer-to-peer connection which focuses on maintaining smooth team play, while Smash online relies more on a delay-based setup to synchronize one-on-one battles. Both methods cater to the specific needs of their gameplay styles.

Smash and Splatoon serve different player dynamics, which means different online coding priorities.

In my experience, Splatoon's peer-to-peer coding makes it feel more fluid and responsive during matches, especially when ink's flying everywhere! Smash tends to be more laggy for me.
