Adding friends in Animal Crossing is super easy and a great way to make your island life more fun! First, both you and your friend need a Nintendo Online subscription. Then, one of you has to open your island gate by talking to Orville at the airport and choose to invite friends. Your friend can then visit your island by talking to Orville at their airport and choosing to visit an online island. Once you've visited each other's islands, you'll automatically become friends in the game! Remember, visiting each other's islands and doing activities together doubles the fun!

Actually, the easiest way is just to add them via your Nintendo Switch friend list. If you're friends on there, you're automatically friends in Animal Crossing. No need to fly to each other's islands first. Gotta love technology!
