As someone who’s spent way too many hours in Xenoverse 2, I’d say go to the Online Lobby, find your friend’s character, and interact with them to send a request. Simple but effective!

First, make sure you're online! Then head to the Multi Lobby and use the player list to add friends. Easy peasy!
