To add friends on 8 Ball Pool for iPad, go to the 'Friends' tab in the game. Hit the 'Invite Friends' button to connect with your buddies via Facebook, or by entering their unique user ID directly.
Simple! Just open the 'Friends' tab in the app and either use Facebook to find your friends or enter their user ID manually.
From my experience, the easiest way to add friends is to sync your Facebook account with the game. This automatically adds any of your Facebook friends who also play 8 Ball Pool.
