How to Attach Bait to a Bamboo Pole in Stardew Valley
Unfortunately, you can't attach bait to the bamboo pole in Stardew Valley. You'll need to upgrade to at least the fiberglass rod before you can start using bait. Once you've got your hands on a fiberglass rod or better, just open your inventory, pick up the bait, and right-click (or tap, depending on your platform) on the rod. Voila, bait attached!

Here's the short story: ya can't. Bamboo pole is the basic of basics and doesn't support bait. Gotta upgrade to a better rod like fiberglass or iridium if you're looking to get serious about your fishing game.
