Forget button binding, just get good at the quick backdash cancel moves. Practice makes perfect!

I've done this before! Go to the controller settings in the game menu, and bind a button to down-back (d/b) or down-back down-back (d/b, d/b). This makes backdashing consistent and easier.

You can set a button to backdash by going to the controller settings menu in Tekken and customizing your button layout. Just assign the desired button to perform the backdash command. Easy peasy!
