In Animal Crossing, to build a fishing rod, you'll first need to gather 5 tree branches. Once you've got those, head over to a DIY workbench. If you're just starting out, Tom Nook will give you the recipe for a simple DIY workbench and for the flimsy fishing rod during your initial orientation workshop. Just interact with the workbench, select the flimsy fishing rod from the crafting menu, and voila! You're all set to start fishing.

Honestly, just buy one from Nook's Cranny. Saves time and gets you fishing faster. Plus, you can upgrade to better ones without the hassle.

Pro tip: always have an extra rod crafted. Nothing's worse than your rod breaking mid-catch. Trust me, been there, done that!

Just grab 5 branches and hit up the nearest DIY bench. Crafting a flimsy rod is your ticket to reeling in the big ones!

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
