Just focus on speed and don't worry too much about perfect pieces. Clear lines fast and the combos will come!
Create a mess on purpose! Keep your stack low in the center and focus on clearing non-Tetris lines as fast as you can.
Personally, I always leave a column empty on the side and fill up the rest. Then, I spam line clears for killer combos!
