To change chaos corruption attrition, try using the Legendary Lord with an ability to reduce corruption or use buildings that counter it. Also, tech trees can help!

I've found that using Vampire Coast units can help mitigate the effects due to their natural corruption resistance. Worked for me in my last campaign!
