How to Change Name in Undertale Without a True Reset
You can't do it in-game, but you can edit the game's save file. Just find your save file and open it with a text editor—change the name there and voila! Just make sure to back up your save first!

Sorry, mate, you've gotta do a True Reset if you want to change your name the proper way in Undertale. It's a pain, but that's how it is.
Trust me, I've tried it—no way around a True Reset unless you edit the save file manually or use a third-party tool.
Toby Fox made it tricky on purpose! If you don't want to reset your game, you can use an editor like Undertale Save Editor to change your name.
