I clean mine once a month or so. Just unplug it, use a can of compressed air on the vents, and wipe it down with a microfiber cloth. It's still going strong since 2009!

Lazy mode: unplug it, blow into the vents, and wipe it down with a soft cloth. Not perfect, but better than nothing!
