Pop in a controller you've already synced before and go to Settings > Accessory Settings > Manage Bluetooth Devices. There, you can search for new devices and follow the prompts to connect your PS3 controller without the USB.

Hold down the PS button and the Share button on your PS3 controller until the light starts flashing. Then, use a connected controller to sync it via Bluetooth in the settings.
