You can't directly connect your PS3 to a laptop using an HDMI cable because laptop HDMI ports are usually output-only. Instead, you can use a capture card to connect your PS3 to your laptop via USB.

Get a video capture card, install the software, and then connect your PS3 to the capture card and the card to the laptop. Boom! You've got your PS3 on your laptop screen.

I tried hooking up my PS3 directly to my laptop once. Spoiler: It didn't work. Use a capture card instead!

Just get a capture card. That's the only real way to do it.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
