Did this last week! Just head over to your Twitch settings and look for the 'Connections' tab. There's a list of services you can link to, and Steam is right there. A couple of clicks and some login credentials, and you're all set. Easy and quick, just how I like my game setups.
In my experience, connecting Twitch and Steam didn't do much. I mean, sure, it's kinda cool to have, but don't expect monumental changes in your gaming or streaming experience. It's more about convenience than revolution.
Actually, just keep them separate. Why mix gaming with streaming? That's like pineapple on pizza. Not everyone's cup of tea.
