Unfortunately, Paper.io 2 doesn't support direct friend connections within the game itself. You can, however, play at the same time and try to join the same game by repeatedly refreshing the app!
I usually coordinate with my pals over a call and we keep retrying until we end up in the same game. It's all about timing!
Hot take: No option to connect with friends, just enjoy the chaos solo!
