Unfortunately, you can't connect an Xbox 360 controller to a Switch without an adapter. They just aren't compatible directly.

As much as we'd love it to be plug-and-play, you'll need an adapter to connect your Xbox 360 controller to the Switch.

Nope, it's a no-go. You'll need an adapter to make them play nice together.
