To deal more damage, make sure you're hitting the center of the bar during attacks. Timing is everything!

Grind some enemies in the Ruins early on for extra EXP and better attack stats.

Remember to level up your LOVE (Level Of ViolencE) to increase your attack power. EXP = more damage.
