How to Decorate Basement Rec Room with Support Poles
DebiasingPons路8 months agoTurn those poles into a feature instead of an eyesore! Wrap them in rope lights or fairy lights for a soft, ambient glow. If you're feeling artsy, you could also paint them to match your rec room's theme or turn them into faux trees or totem poles. If you're into sports, how about wrapping them in your team's colors?

Honestly, just throw a bunch of bean bags around them and call it a day. Makes for a great conversation piece and you don't have to try too hard.
I actually wrapped my support poles in colored velcro fabric and now my kids use them as a part of their obstacle course. It's functional, adds a pop of color, and the kiddos love it. Plus, it's a unique way to keep them active indoors.
Camouflage them with curtains! Set up a tension rod between two poles and hang some nice, floor-length curtains. It gives the illusion of a more divided space, and you can use the curtains to hide the poles or create cozy little nooks.
