I鈥檝e deleted tons of photos this way: open the photo, hit the three dots, and smash that 'Delete' button. Works every time.
Why delete? Just archive it! Tap the three dots then hit 'Archive' to hide it without losing it forever.
Just hit the three dots on the top right of the photo you want to delete and choose 'Delete'. Simple as that!
