How to delete a contact on WhatsApp

Why delete? Just mute or block them if they're bothering you.
Open WhatsApp, go to the Chats tab, tap the chat with the contact you want to delete, then tap their name at the top. Tap the 3 dots in the upper-right corner, select 'View in address book,' and delete the contact from there. This will remove them from WhatsApp too!
I've deleted contacts by going directly to my phone's address book. Once you delete them there, WhatsApp updates automatically. Worked every time for me!
