You can delete your Facebook account by visiting the Delete Account page directly: https://www.facebook.com/help/delete_account. Easy peasy!
I deleted mine last year. Just head to the 'Settings' menu, navigate to 'Your Facebook Information,' and choose 'Deactivation and Deletion.' Follow the steps, and poof, it's gone!
