How to delete some notifications on Facebook

From personal experience, I just click the three dots next to each notification and select 'Remove this notification.' Works every time for me.
You can't really delete notifications, but you can mark them as read and customize what you get notified about in the settings.
Just hit the three-dot menu on each notification and choose 'Remove this notification.' Bye-bye annoying alerts!
