I found that you can disable tile styles by going to 'Settings' and then finding the 'Tile Styles' option to turn it off. Worked for me!

You can turn off tile styles in the game settings. Just flip the switch, and you're done!

To disable tile styles in Words with Friends, open the game, go to 'Settings', then toggle off 'Tile Styles'. Easy peasy!
