Using a console? Go to the game in your library, hit 'Options' or 'Menu' button, and then select 'Check for Update'.
On most platforms, just launch the game and it will prompt you to update if there's a new version. Simple as that!
Pro tip from experience: Always check your internet connection before updating; you don't want a half-downloaded update!
