Aiming for the Pok茅mon's center and releasing the ball when the circle is mid-sized usually results in a nice throw. Practice makes perfect!
I've been playing since 2016, and I've found that using a curveball with the target circle being mid-sized really improves your chances!
Honestly, just throw the ball and hope for the best!
