Drilling out rivets from Hot Wheels is pretty straightforward but requires a steady hand. First, you gotta pick a drill bit that’s slightly smaller than the rivet itself to avoid damaging the car. Secure the Hot Wheel so it doesn’t move, then carefully drill into the center of the rivet. Go slow to keep it neat! After you’ve drilled through, the car should come apart easily. Remember, practice makes perfect!

Just grab a 1/16th inch drill bit and go at it. Don't overthink it, it's just a toy car.

I tried drilling out rivets once and totally botched my favorite Hot Wheels. Really, unless you're super into customizing or fixing them, it's not worth risking. Just buy another car.
