Honestly, you shouldn't worry too much about gold in Undertale. The story and choices you make are way more important.
Grind in Snowdin Forest! Fight the Lesser Dog, it's adorable and gives decent gold. Plus, you get to pet a good doggo!
Equip the Temmie Armor. It helps you collect more gold by reducing the damage you take, allowing you to survive longer and defeat more enemies.
