How to Eliminate Your Facebook Account?
I deleted mine by navigating to Settings, then Your Facebook Information, followed by Deactivation and Deletion. Worth it for the tranquility!

To delete your Facebook account, go to Settings, then Your Facebook Information, and select Deactivation and Deletion. Choose 'Delete Account', click 'Continue to Account Deletion', and follow the prompts. Easy as pie!
Deactivate it first. Trust me, you'll want to test those waters.
Just click "Settings", then "Your Facebook Information". Finally choose "Delete Account". Boom, done.
