I鈥檝e been using Energy Channel on my Galatine Prime and it's a blast! The extra damage really helps with higher level missions. Try pairing it with Warframes that have high energy pools like Volt or Trinity for maximum effect.
Honestly, Energy Channel isn't worth it. Stick to other mods for better results.
