In XCOM 2, go to the main menu, access the 'Character Pool' section, select your desired characters, and then choose 'Export Selection' to save them. Easy peasy!

You don't. Exporting isn't directly supported in the vanilla game, but mods can help. Check out the Steam Workshop for some options.

I always use the Character Pool. Open it up, select your characters, and export them. Makes replaying with your favorites a breeze!
