FYI, farming too much can ruin the fun. Just play the game and let the leather come when it does. It's not like the game forces you to have a warehouse of leather to progress.
Honestly, I just trade for it. Way easier than hunting, especially if you're not into that part of the game. Find players looking to trade in the multiplayer hubs or forums. You'd be surprised what some people are willing to trade for things they consider common!
