How to Find Electrons on the Periodic Table

Just find the atomic number of the element on the table. The atomic number tells you the number of protons, and since atoms are neutral, it also tells you the electrons!

As a chemistry teacher, I've taught students this trick: the atomic number (above the element symbol) always matches the number of electrons in a neutral atom. Works every time!

Simple stuff! The number of electrons equals the atomic number of the element. Just look at the top of the element's box.
