Facebook used to let you search people by phone number, but for privacy reasons, it's not as straightforward now.
From personal experience, I managed to find old friends this way: just pop their phone number in the search bar and, voila, there they are!
Honestly, you might be out of luck. Facebook got a little more privacy-conscious about this.
