Fishing in Animal Crossing: New Leaf is super chill! First, you gotta buy a fishing rod from Nook’s Cranny, or sometimes you can get one from a neighbor. Once you got your rod, go to any body of water - river, ocean, or pond. Look for the shadow of a fish in the water, then cast your line by pressing the 'A' button, making sure the bobber lands in front of the fish. Wait for the fish to bite; you'll see the bobber dive under the water, then quickly press 'A' again to reel it in! Patience is key; some fish are quicker to bite than others.

Honestly, I've spent hours fishing in ACNL and here's a pro tip: Fish are more active during certain times of the day and in different seasons. So, if you're aiming for that rare catch, make sure you check what time they're most likely to appear. Happy fishing!

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
