How to Fix a Bumper on an Xbox One Controller
Had the same issue! Opened up the controller with the right tools, checked the bumper, and found a plastic piece misaligned. Popped it back in place and my controller worked perfectly again.

First, you'll need to open the controller using a T8 Torx screwdriver. Remove the screws and carefully take off the shell. Inspect the bumper mechanism for any loose or broken parts. You might need to reposition or replace the bumper. Reassemble everything, and you should be good to go!
I fixed my bumper by opening the controller and re-seating the bumper button. Just make sure not to lose any tiny parts when you do it!
Honestly, just get a new controller. They're built to last, but sometimes it's not worth the hassle to fix it.
