A simple trick: make sure your console is on a flat, stable surface. Sometimes a wobbly setup can mess with the disc reader.

First, try cleaning the disc and the console's disc tray. If it's still not working, a hard reset might help: hold the power button for 10 seconds to shut down the console, then unplug it for a couple of minutes before turning it back on.

I've had luck with the 'power cycle' method. Completely power down your Xbox One by holding the power button for 10 seconds, cleaning any dust off the disc, and then restarting the console. Worked for me every time!

Hot take: Skip the DIY fixes and just send it in for repair. You don't want to mess with the internals and risk voiding your warranty.

If you're a Xbox player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Xbox gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
