Make sure you're connected via Ethernet instead of WiFi. Wired connections are usually more stable.
If all else fails, move closer to your router. Walls and distance can mess up WiFi signals.
Close any background applications or downloads. If your bandwidth is being hogged, it'll definitely cause ping issues.
Honestly, sometimes bad ping has nothing to do with you. Just try again later or find a different server.
