First, make sure your PS4 is updated to the latest system software. Restart your modem and router to refresh your internet connection. You might also want to rebuild your PS4 database: turn off the PS4, hold the power button until you hear two beeps, then select "Rebuild Database" from the Safe Mode menu.
Check your internet connection! A wired connection is always better than Wi-Fi for gaming. If that's not possible, try moving your PS4 closer to the router.
Honestly, sometimes switching to an Ethernet cable instead of Wi-Fi solves the lagging issues instantly. Go wired if you can!
Turn off other devices that might be using the internet, like your phone or laptop. Background downloads could be hogging your bandwidth.
