If the issue persists, try another disc in your Wii to rule out a hardware problem with the console. This happened to me once, and it turned out my Wii was the culprit, not the disc.
Just replace the disc. Seriously, it's often easier and less stressful.
Give the disc a gentle clean with a microfiber cloth, wiping from the center outwards. Sometimes a little TLC is all it needs!
