First off, try a hard reset on your controller by pressing the sync button and the Xbox button at the same time until it powers off, then power it back on. If the bumper is still not working, you might need to open it up and check for any debris or misalignment—though doing this could void your warranty! Sometimes a quick blast of compressed air can also help dislodge any stuck particles.

Had the same issue last month. Opened up the controller (tutorials on YouTube helped) and found a loose piece inside the bumper mechanism. Re-seated it, closed everything up, and it’s been working like a charm since.

Honestly, just buy a new one. Fixing it is too much hassle.

If you're not comfortable opening the controller, consider reaching out to Microsoft support. They might be able to repair or replace it under warranty if it's still covered.

If you're a Xbox player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Xbox gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
