Honestly, I just search for their username in the Steam community tab and add them directly from their profile. Works every time and feels more personal, ya know?

To add a friend on Steam, you gotta open your Steam client and click on 'Friends' at the top of the window, then choose 'Add a Friend'. You can enter your friend's Steam code or link their profile URL here. If you're feeling extra social, just share your own friend code with them and have them add you instead!
